Merriweather Lewis’ expedition across the United States began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Travelling down the Ohio River in August of 1803, he met friend William Clark in Indiana. Together, they would travel across the plains, the Rocky Mountains, and reach the Pacific Ocean two years later. The explorers discovered and mapped out newly acquired land from the Louisiana Purchase.
Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers embarked on a similar type of journey. They made their way south near the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore, and the Steelers found their own new territory. The other side of the football field.
With a passing offense limited to passes under 10 yards for over a month, the Steelers opened up the playbook and the offense.
