Former Steelers WR retires

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Williams is retiring. Williams was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and subsequently informed the Los Angeles Chargers of his intention to retire.

The Steelers traded for Williams ahead of the trade deadline last season. In his first game with the team, he made one of the biggest grabs in recent Steelers history, catching the game-winning touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to help Pittsburgh defeat the Washington Commanders.

Unfortunately for Williams, he caught just eight more passes as a Steeler and had just 21 receptions as a whole in 2024 with Pittsburgh and the New York Jets.
