This offseason has not been a boring one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Before free agency opened, they traded for DK Metcalf. Now, they’ve involved in another wide receiver trade, but this time, they’re sending George Pickens away. It’s a slightly surprising move, if only because the timing seems strange. Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum has a lot of questions about the Steelers after this move.
“I’m using the term inconsistent timeline,” Tannenbaum said Wednesday on ESPN’s SportsCenter. “Because when you trade for DK Metcalf, which I love, one of the young, emerging stars at the receiver position, and pay him $30 million a year and give up a second-round pick, that feels like an all-in move.
