Brandin Echols has proven to be one of the Steelers’ most useful offseason additions this year. Despite being a backup to start the season, Echols has been a regular on the field, seeing time at outside corner and more recently in the slot, earning the starting role.
For Echols, that is a bit different than he was used to. With the Jets, while he did cut his teeth in the slot from time to time, he primarily served as a boundary corner backup to Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. Even with that learning curve, Echols has started to gain footing in the slot for the Steelers.
