In just the latest indication of how close the Pittsburgh Steelers came to making a trade deadline deal Tuesday, Gerry Dulac reports the organization believed an agreement was in place to land a veteran wide receiver.
“I will tell you they certainly tried,” Dulac said on KDKA’s Steelers Kickoff show Sunday morning. “In fact, they thought they actually had a deal for a wide receiver, would’ve been a quality wide receiver, and it just kind of fell through. And not from their end.”
Dulac didn’t mention the player by name, but it’s reasonable to assume it was for Las Vegas Raiders’ wideout Jakobi Meyers.
