There’s been a lot of negative press about the field at Acrisure Stadium this season. The field came under fire following the Steelers’ Week 6 win over the Cleveland Browns, when players from both teams spoke out about how poor the condition was and complained to the NFLPA. That led to new controversy about the Steelers sharing the field with the University of Pittsburgh, as Pitt had played on the field on Saturday before the Steelers on Sunday.
Despite the issues this season, Gerry Dulac of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Friday that team sources aren’t concerned about the field as a new mandate for field standards looms in 2028.
