The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t had many homegrown offensive players worth paying to keep. Pat Freiermuth and Jaylen Warren are exceptions — and WR Calvin Austin III might be next. He’s improved in every year of his young career and will be an unrestricted free agent in March, making him one of Pittsburgh’s biggest offseason decisions.
P-G insider Gerry Dulac thinks the Steelers will ultimately get a deal done with Austin following the season as one of their top priorities.
“Yes, he is next up more than likely,” Dulac wrote in his weekly Steelers chat.
With Metcalf tied to the team through 2029, Pittsburgh’s decision on Austin will affect the rest of the WR room profoundly.
