Short of ordering Primanti sandwiches, the Indianapolis Colts did everything possible to prepare to play in Acrisure Stadium this afternoon. That included playing ‘Renegade,’ the Pittsburgh Steelers’ unofficial anthem, throughout practice. Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed the strategy during a pre-game interview.
“We had crowd noise at practice, tried to put them in that environment,” Steichen told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio just Sunday morning. “Communication’s gotta be at a premium. And you know we had to play that Renegade song every time we started the last quarter of the period.”
The Colts aren’t the first to deploy the tactic.
