Chris Hoke Doesn’t Think Yahya Black Can Handle Nose Tackle: ‘Knocked Off The Ball Way Too Much’

The Pittsburgh Steelers have allowed over 200+ yards in each of their last two games, both without DL Derrick Harmon. In his place, fellow rookie Yahya Black has seen increased snaps, both at defensive end and at nose tackle. Former Steelers DL Chris Hoke said on The Pomp and Joe Show on 93.7 The Fan that he thought Black’s arrow was “pointing up” at defensive end but criticized his play when he had to handle nose tackle.

“I didn’t like him at nose tackle, I thought he was very indecisive. I thought he did not play the body, play the angles, play downhill,” Hoke said.
