Carney: Four Key Matchups In Steelers-Lions

As the snow outside continues to fall ahead of Christmas next week, the Pittsburgh Steelers get set to head to the Motor City and play indoors at Ford Field in a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are backed into a corner staring down their playoff mortality.

On paper, it looks like a clear advantageous matchup for the Lions, who have an elite offense and will go against a Steelers defense missing T.J. Watt and potentially Nick Herbig, leaving the outside linebacker room perilously thin. But that’s why they play the games.

The Lions are decimated in the secondary, and the Steelers’ passing game, led by Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf, is hitting its stride.
