Can the Steelers and DK Metcalf keep the deep passing game going?
For the first time all season, the Steelers’ deep passing game came alive last week, thanks primarily to DK Metcalf. Or rather, thanks to Aaron Rodgers finally connecting with him on deep balls. At times, he has struggled to reel in some combat catches, but he has had few high-quality opportunities downfield. Of course, teams have generally actively worked to limit his ability to run free in the secondary.
But good teams design plays to allow their playmakers to get open. DK Metcalf is a threat in the deep passing game, and the Steelers have failed to exploit that all year.
