Browns Grant WR Jarvis Landry Permission To Seek Trade After Agreeing To Trade For Amari Cooper

In comes one player, out goes another. That’s the way it works so often in the NFL, every year, on almost every team. It’s less common when it involves such big-ticket names, however. With the Cleveland Browns yesterday agreeing to trade for wide receiver Amari Coopers and take on his $20 million cap hit, they have some very serious matters to consider.

While the trade cannot be made official until the start of the new league year, Cooper’s salary puts the Browns over the cap by more than $3 million. That means they will have to clear more than $3 million by the start of the new league year just to even be allowed to consummate the trade.
