I covered seven of Mike Tomlin’s first eight seasons as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach. They were heady times for half of it, the Steelers winning the Super Bowl in his second season and returning to the big game in his fourth.
It was never the same for the Steelers after Tim Tebow happened. But it was always interesting being around Tomlin on a regular basis.
Never more so than one day in January 2011. The Steelers were making their run to Super Bowl XLV, and I had been asked to write the cover story for one of the team’s home playoff game programs.
