Blueger goes on injured-reserve

Center Teddy Blueger, injured on a high hit by Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon Sunday, has been placed on injured reserve, according to the NHL's media website.

The Penguins have not confirmed the move.

Just over 11 minutes into the first period of the Penguins' 3-2 shootout victory at PPG Paints Arena, Dillon drove Blueger into the glass behind the Winnipeg net.

Blueger took a few strides before dropping to the ice and bled heavily before going to the locker room. He did not return to the game.

Dillon was not penalized and the league office has not announced any supplemental discipline for the hit.
