Everyone knew Peyton Manning was coming to the end of his career in his last two seasons. Not that he should’ve been the backup or that his time was over, even if his final season was clearly his worst. But with the leadership and mentality someone like Manning brought to a team, he was still a factor even if he wasn’t making plays.
Ben Roethlisberger has started to hit that point. Less drastically, of course, but is still starting to decline. Not that his talent is any less than it was, but physically, his body no longer allows him to do the things he has throughout his career.
