The Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary has taken some lumps this season, through both poor play and injuries. The unit hasn’t been nearly as good as it was expected to be, but as a result we’ve seen some players lower on the depth chart get more playing time recently. One of those players is James Pierre.
With Darius Slay suffering a concussion against the Los Angeles Chargers, his status for the Steelers’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals is in question. If he can’t play Sunday, Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo thinks Pierre will see a lot of reps.
“Darius Slay is gonna start the week in concussion protocol,” Fittipaldo said Wednesday on 93.
