Battle Of Veteran Special Teams Coaches Could Decide Outcome Of Steelers/Bengals Game

Today’s a good day because I get to write about Danny Smith. One of the longest-tenured special teams coaches in football, Smith will be facing the other long-tenured special teams coach in the AFC North in the Cincinnati Bengals’ Darrin Simmons. Smith has been with the Steelers since 2013, Simmons with the Bengals since 2003 (and is still just 49 years old).

In Mike Tomlin’s mind, whichever coach gains an edge will be whose team wins the game. Speaking to Bob Pompeani during his weekly The Mike Tomlin Show, Tomlin outlined the battle between those two men.
