Letting go of George Pickens and acquiring DK Metcalf to be their new WR1 was one of the bolder moves the Pittsburgh Steelers made last offseason. And for much of the season, it hasn’t looked great on paper. Pickens is among the league’s leaders in receiving yards and has had nearly the same amount of yards as the entire Steelers’ receiving corps for much of the season.
But things looked much better in last week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens. Metcalf exploded for his best game as a Steeler with seven receptions for 148 yards. But beyond just the stats, Steelers beat writer Brian Batko thinks Metcalf’s leadership has given the Steelers a boost.
