“The context is that the tight end room, you mash up Pat, Darnell [Washington] and Jonnu [Smith], you don’t have anybody who would sit there with 65, 70 receptions,” Smith told reporters Thursday via a team-issued transcript. “But the emergence of Darnell and Kenny [Gainwell], there is give and take, and that’s kind of what’s gone on this certain way.
