The win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday was important for every Pittsburgh Steeler. But it wasn’t nearly as important for anyone else as it was for Derrick Harmon.
For Harmon, Sunday’s win was not only a victory in his hometown. It’s also a victory in the same state he used to play in during college. He stayed at Michigan State up until his senior season, as he wanted to stay close to his mother, who was sick at the time. She later passed away just after the Steelers drafted him in April.
In such an emotional game, Harmon had an excellent performance.
