Pittsburgh Steelers EDGE Alex Highsmith has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 9. Highsmith helped lead a Steelers’ defense that muted a potent Indianapolis Colts’ offense, finishing the game with four quarterback hits, three tackles for a loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection.
Highsmith joined Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and Jacksonville Jaguars K Cam Little as AFC honorees.
Despite tweaking an ankle injury, Highsmith finished out the game and looked no worse for wear. Pittsburgh’s pass rush was aggressive and productive against Indianapolis’ quality tackle pairing. Per our charting, Highsmith registered three pressures.
