Sunday was one of Aaron Rodgers’ best games in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform. His strongest showing since at least Week 1 and arguably even better than his debut against the New York Jets, especially considering opponent, venue, and the weight of beating the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. His play alone hasn’t been the difference. His leadership has provided as much value as anything else.
Any captain can handle smooth seas. The true mettle of leadership is when the waters get rough. And so, when the Steelers’ season seemed on the verge of collapse, as the public called for Mike Tomlin to be fired, and as the walls seemed to be closing in, Rodgers presented a calm, collected mentality.
