Steelers HC Mike Tomlin praised WR Roman Wilson despite a “boneheaded” play. Then the team proceeded to pass on adding at the trade deadline. Whether or not that’s an endorsement of the young man might be in the eyes of the beholder. One person who has his eyes on him, though, is QB Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers has spoken at length about Wilson this year, going back to the offseason. His overarching statement has been that he believes Wilson has high potential, and he plans to coach him to that potential. It doesn’t seem he thinks the young receiver is extremely near that mark, but he’s getting closer.
