Up 3-0 midway through the first quarter and facing a 3rd and 7 from the 9-yard line in his own end, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers dropped back to pass and then did something he’s very rarely done in his career: made a mind-numbingly bad decision by trying to extend the play and taking a sack for a safety.
Rodgers tried to step up in the pocket, then bailed backwards and went right into the arms of Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Khalil Mack, who beat Steelers right tackle Troy Fautanu on a second effort, making it a 3-2 game.
