2019 NFL Draft Player Profiles: Wyoming EDGE Carl Granderson

The Good:

  • Good size and arm length (34 inches)
  • Solid ability to slide and chase on the backside on running plays
  • Has shown strength to yank and shed blockers
  • Good quickness on inside move on pass rush
  • Flattens to the QB quickly when he gets around the edge

The Bad:

  • Inconsistent acceleration at the snap
  • Lacks quickness and mental processing to beat reach blocks on runs his way
  • Tries to avoid blocks instead of taking them on leaving the edge open
  • Doesn’t possess play strength or use of hands to take on blocks or set the edge
  • Not effective using his hand while rushing the passer
  • Doesn’t show the speed on outside rushes to stress the OL
  • Sexual assault and sexual battery charges filed in February 2019
