1991 Throwback: Steelers On Receiving End Of Patriots Butt Punt

Remember the butt punt a few weeks ago in the game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills? That entertaining play was obviously of the rare variety and especially in the NFL. However, as rare as that Thomas Morstead butt punt into Trent Sherfield was in Week 3, it’s not like it was the first time it’s happened in the NFL. In fact, the Pittsburgh Steelers once had a butt punt happen in one of their home games many moons ago and thankfully it wasn’t them that took in the rear in that contest.

In a 1991 Week 3 game between the Steelers and the New England Patriots at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, the Steelers were on the receiving end of a butt punt.
