Here’s a recap of Friday’s action around winter ball for members of the Pittsburgh Pirates. We could write a Winter Leagues article just on the Sydney Blue Sox game in Australia with all of the Pirates players that saw action for them on Friday. That’s where we start.
In Australia, Jase Bowen (pictured above) and Solomon Maguire each made their winter debut on Friday (technically it’s the end of spring down there). That gave Sydney six Pirates prospects in their lineup by the end of the game. Bowen started in center field and he went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple in the 3-1 win.
