PITTSBURGH -- After going a month without throwing a quality start, Trevor Williams pitched one of the best outings of his career on Monday night.
The right-hander registered a career-high-tying seven strikeouts while walking two, hitting one and surrendering a lone hit over seven scoreless innings in the Pirates' 1-0 win over the Brewers at PNC Park.
It was the Bucs' ninth shutout of the season, which ties the Cubs for the most in the Major Leagues. The win puts the Pirates back at .500 on the season.
