The 2025 MLB Trade deadline was yesterday, and as expected, the Pirates were sellers. GM Ben Cherington made several moves, including trading hometown closer David Bednar and third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes.
Hayes was shipped to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for 20-year-old shortstop Sammy Stafura and relief pitcher Taylor Rogers.
