Tyler Glasnow's spin rate has increased this season. 'Run with it, kid,' his pitching coach says.

MIAMI — Tyler Glasnow has pitched fairly well early in his first full season as a reliever. He allowed one run in six innings in his first three outings, with eight strikeouts and five walks, before a fluky outing in Chicago resulted in four runs in two thirds of an inning. Glasnow’s spin rate backs up his results.

Among the 170 pitchers who have thrown a curveball and have thrown at least 100 total pitches this season (Glasnow has thrown 134) the 2,859 average revolutions per minute on his curveball ranks 12th. The 2,446 RPM of his four-seam fastball ranks 27th out of 269 pitchers with at least 100 pitches.
