Tyler Glasnow's father sees the difference in his son: 'He realizes it's time'

When Greg Glasnow compared observing the change in his son Tyler’s demeanor to watching grass grow, he meant it in a positive way.

A baseball season that stretches from mid-February, when pitchers and catchers report to spring training, to the end of September — and a team that plays its home games 2,400 miles from Greg’s home in southern California — means father and son go months without seeing each other.

“When you stand there looking at it, you can’t really tell,” Greg Glasnow said this past weekend in Philadelphia, where he accompanied the team on the fathers’ trip.
