Travis Swaggerty Heads to Greensboro on Rehab

The Pittsburgh Pirates had some moves ahead of Friday night’s minor league action. Here’s a rundown.

Outfielder Travis Swaggerty has been sent to Greensboro on a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old has missed significant time twice this season, with what has been described as an illness.

Swaggerty last played for Indianapolis on June 4th. He was back for two weeks at that point, after missing five weeks in late April/May. He had just two hits during that return, which included rehab time with Bradenton. He’s hitting .200/.278/.369 over 17 games for Indianapolis this season.

Left-handed pitcher Anthony Solometo has been transferred to the Development List for Altoona, which is likely just a move to open up a roster spot over the weekend for infielder Domingo Leyba.
