Gerrit Cole is 0-3 against the Cincinnati Reds this year. He is 14-2 against everyone else.
To be fair, it’s not as if Cole was terrible on Saturday – the bigger problem was the Pirates’ inability to hit a pretty iffy pitcher in Raisel Iglesias, and the defense let Cole down quite a bit. The Pirates were not charged with an error, but Cutch turned a single into a triple by whiffing on it, Pedro couldn’t handle a grounder that was ruled a single but should’ve been an out, and Stewart let a pitch get by him for a passed ball.
