More will be known Tuesday, notably when Mike Tomlin has his weekly press conference, but two of the Steelers' most important players could return much sooner than feared when both were injured Sunday in Cincinnati, per multiple reports Monday.
According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Watt's gathering additional opinions on his torn left pectoral, but the belief, per both reporters, is that Watt won't require surgery and, thus, the injury won't be season-ending. Pelissero projected a return in the range of six weeks in that event:
The timeline means Watt will probably land on injured reserve, though Pittsburgh has not made a move.
