Raise the Jolly Roger! Pirate hats are en vogue at New York Fashion Week

NEW YORK — Now here's a trend spotted at New York Fashion Week that Pittsburghers can get behind — pirate hats!

But these aren't the typical black-and-gold caps with the Pittsburgh Pirates signature "P" stitched on them. At the Libertine runway show this week, several male models stepped out in swashbuckling style. They wore traditional pirate hats dressed up with a rainbow of sequins that only the boldest buccaneer would dare to wear!

In past seasons, Libertine's collections — known for their psychedelic colors and boundary-pushing pieces — have drawn inspiration from Pittsburgh's native son Andy Warhol and included prints inspired by the Pop Art movement.
