The good news over the weekend for the Pittsburgh Pirates is that they finally beat the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park this season. The bad news is that the team suffered yet another series loss to fall to 62-81 on the season.
Entering Friday night’s series opener the Pirates were 0-6 against the Cardinals at PNC Park this season. The team picked up a come from behind victory on Friday night, but were defeated in the latter two games of the series. As a result, the Pirates are now 18-36 since the All-Star Break.
The team is now 3-14 in 17 series played since the All-Star Break.
