Pirates top the Padres 5-1

How about them Buccos, eh?

After starting the season 1-6, the Pittsburgh Pirates have suddenly won four out of five games. In tonight’s game, they defeated the San Diego Padres 5-1. Tyler Anderson was solid in his third start as a Pirate. Over 5.1 innings pitched, he allowed one earned run on four hits. He struck out two and walked one.

In the sixth inning, Duane Underwood Jr. relieved Anderson. Although he couldn’t strand the only earned run that Anderson was charged with, Underwood Jr. looked solid over 1.2 innings of work striking out three batters.
