Pirates Prospects has learned that the Pittsburgh Pirates signed 17-year-old right-handed pitcher Cristian Charle out of the Dominican. He has been clocked as high as 95 MPH, and can be seen in the video below, which is from February.

In our international recap on Sunday, I mentioned that we were looking into a pitcher that we thought was signed. It turns out that the Pirates had signed 19-year-old lefty Denny Roman out of Mexico about the same time that the article was being written up. Roman pitched well in winter ball this past off-season and he pitched well enough that he was drafted by a team at 16 years old in the Mexican winter league.
