The Pirates released right-hander Angel Sanchez Monday.
The team did not make an announcement but posted the move on its official transactions page.
Sanchez, who turns 28 Tuesday, made his major league debut this season. He allowed 12 runs, 16 hits and five home runs in 12u2153 innings, striking out 10 while walking one.
There are now 38 players on the 40-man roster.
