On this edition of the Pirates’ Prospect Update series, we take a look at outfielder Edward Florentino, who is already turning heads in the Florida Coast League.
Pittsburgh signed Florentino to a Minor League contract during the international signing period last winter, and he was immediately assigned to the Summer team in the Dominican Republic. His time there was brief as at the beginning of 2025 saw him be assigned to the Florida Coast League Pirates.
His stint in the FCL was super successful and was a great indication as to how he can handle the work load of a full professional season.
