The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Tuesday afternoon that they have placed catcher Chris Stewart on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. Catcher Elias Diaz has been promoted from Indianapolis to take his place on the active roster.
Stewart was injured late in yesterday's game while legging out a triple. He was able to walk off the field on his own without assistance. Afterwards he told the local media that he thought he would be fine, but with the shorter disabled list now available, it makes it easier to put a player on the DL when they could miss just a few days.
