The Pittsburgh Pirates made two more roster cuts after Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. Pitcher Adonis Medina was optioned to Indianapolis and pitcher Austin Brice was reassigned to minor league camp. The Pirates are at 38 players on the active Spring Training roster, so they still need to cut ten more players before Thursday’s season opener. Teams will be allowed to carry 28 players to begin the season this year.
Medina struggled in his only Spring Training outing, allowing four runs while recording two outs. He was claimed off waivers by the Pirates back on March 16th.
