BRADENTON, Fla. — On Sunday, Josh Smoker and George Kontos went to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, an IndyCar Series race held about a half an hour away from LECOM Park. Smoker, a former race car driver, had arranged with his agent to get tickets through Team Penske.
There was a tradeoff, though. Both Smoker and Kontos are golf fans, and Tiger Woods was making a run at the Valspar Championship.
A hospitality tent at the race was showing the tournament, and once they went to their seats on the finish line, Kontos continued to provide updates on his phone.
