There’s a new name atop the best of the best in Minor League Baseball, as the Pittsburgh Pirates first-year player Konnor Griffin was just named the top prospect in all of baseball.
Griffin, who is just 19 years-old, is having an unprecedented start to his young career, as halfway through his first professional season there are already talks of him seeing a Major League promotion as early as next year. While that’s highly unlikely, it doesn't change the fact that Griffin is absolutely tearing through the minor leagues.
Drafted ninth overall by Pittsburgh in 2024, Griffin’s fast start to his career saw him start in the Florida State League at the beginning of the season.
