Pirates fall to New York Mets 4-3

NEW YORK — The body language said it all for Chad Kuhl Tuesday night. It portrayed his thoughts on his performance: displeasure, to say the least, as he screamed into his glove walking off the mound after a two-run first. And it belied his physical well-being: He stood behind the mound in the fourth inning in a manner unusual enough that catcher Elias Diaz called for the trainer.

Kuhl left Tuesday’s 4-3 walk-off loss against the New York Mets because of right forearm discomfort. He put the Pirates in an early hole, which they escaped in the fifth.
