ST. LOUIS — Kolten Wong’s ninth-inning home run gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 3-2 victory against the Pirates, their second walk-off of the series.
Wong, the first batter Richard Rodriguez faced, homered to right field on a 1-1 slider.
The Pirates trailed 2-1 when Cardinals closer Bud Norris entered in the ninth. He threw a good fastball, up and in on the hands of Austin Meadows, but Meadows still yanked it out to right field. His fifth home run of the season tied the game.
Norris allowed a home run to the Pirates for the second time in three games this series.
