Pirates Drop Home Opener to Cubs, 4-2

As most of you know and the rest will learn, I’m an optimist at heart. So what kind of spin can I put on the Pirates’ sixth straight loss?

At least it wasn’t a blowout.

Unfortunately, it was yet another loss, this one 4-2 against the Cubs, spoiling the Bucs’ home opener at PNC Park. But there were some small signs of life. Small, mind you.

Bucs starter Tyler Anderson was not impressive, but he wasn’t horrible either. After striking out Willson Contreras for the first out in the first inning, he dealt a hanger, which Kris Bryant hit for a no-doubter to center to make it 1-0 Cubs.
