Anderson gutted through 5 1/3 innings on three days’ rest in his last start on Wednesday, also against the Pirates, without command of his curveball or cutter. He’ll be back on a normal schedule for this game.
Williams will make his first start since Sept. 8, when he allowed four runs on four hits and four walks over 4 2/3 innings against the Cardinals. Still, the rookie has posted a 3.64 ERA in 11 second-half starts this season.
