Andrew McCutchen will receive a hearty welcome back to PNC Park Friday night, and he should. Pirates fans should give him a standing ovation all weekend like they did for Neil Walker when he returned for the first time in a Mets uniform. McCutchen deserves all the accolades and tributes he will receive this weekend. He was a key piece — one could actually argue the key piece — to the resurrection of the franchise.
There are some people who will point out his playoff failures and the fact that the Pirates never won a World Series with him, but that’s silly.
