Pittsburgh may not have seen the last of Pablo Reyes. The utilityman has cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis Thursday.
He will go to spring training looking to reclaim a spot on the roster and a major-league job.
The Pirates designated Reyes, 26, for assignment on Jan. 9 after signing Guillermo Heredia to a major league contract.
Reyes burst onto the major league scene with a memorable September call-up in 2018 but failed to capture the same magic in 2019. While he played well during spring training and earned a spot on the opening day roster, he was demoted to Triple-A in early May after hitting .
